Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has officially expanded its compatible device portfolio with the release of its latest programming software. The company’s core product—the universal programming platform AP8000—now fully supports MPS’s hot-swap protection chip, the MP5023.
The MP5023 is a hot-swap protection chip designed to safeguard the output circuitry from input transients. It also protects the input from output short circuits and transients.
During startup, inrush current is limited by setting the output voltage slew rate, which is controlled by an external capacitor connected to the SS pin.
The maximum output load current is limited via on-chip current sensing technology. The current limit value is set using a low-power resistor between the ISET pin and ground.
A built-in charge pump drives the gate of the power device, controlling a power FET with an ultra-low on-resistance (1.1mΩ).
The MP5023 also features an IMON function, which generates a voltage proportional to the power device current by setting a resistor between the IMON pin and ground.
The MP5023 supports reading current, voltage, temperature, and input power data from the internal ADC via the PMBus™ interface.
The MP5023 includes a fast discharge path that quickly discharges external output capacitance via the PMBus™ interface when the chip is disabled.
Comprehensive protection features include current limiting, thermal shutdown protection, and damaged MOSFET detection. Both current limiting and thermal shutdown protection can be configured for auto-retry or latch-off mode via the PMBus™ interface. The MP5023 also features over-voltage protection (OVP) and under-voltage lockout (UVP).
The MP5023 is available in a compact FCQFN-24 (4mm x 5mm) package.

Acroview’s self-developed AP8000 universal programmer has become a benchmark professional programming solution in the industry. The device supports flexible 1-to-1 and 1-to-8 configuration modes, as well as both online and offline operation. It offers dedicated programming solutions for memory chips such as eMMC and UFS, and fully supports both bare-chip offline programming and on-board programming for MPS’s full range of devices. The AP8000 features an innovative modular design consisting of three core components: the main unit, baseboard, and adapter, providing exceptional compatibility and scalability. As a universal programming platform, it not only accommodates various programmable chips on the market but also delivers stable, high-performance capabilities, serving as the core component of Acroview’s automated high-volume programming system, the IPS5800S, which efficiently handles large-scale chip programming tasks to meet mass production demands.

The AP8000 main unit offers flexible connectivity with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling convenient networking of multiple programmers. Through this networking capability, users can easily achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers for efficient parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the main unit features intelligent safety protection circuits that monitor chip placement and circuit connections in real time. If anomalies such as reverse chip insertion or short circuits are detected, an immediate power-off protection mechanism is triggered, ensuring comprehensive protection for both the chip and the programmer. The main unit is equipped with a high-speed FPGA chip, significantly enhancing data transmission and processing efficiency to ensure a smooth and efficient programming process. To enhance user convenience, an SD card slot is provided on the back of the main unit. Users can store project files generated on a PC onto an SD card, insert it into the slot, and then use the programmer’s physical buttons to select, load, and execute programming operations, enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependency on computer hardware but also simplifies workspace setup, significantly improving operational flexibility.
In terms of scalability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular combination design with a baseboard and adapter board, effectively expanding the functionality of the main unit. The device currently supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, including SK Hynix, Micron, Sandisk, ASR, Kingston, and other well-known brands. It supports a wide range of device types, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, and eMMC, and is fully compatible with various industry-standard file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a one-stop, full-scenario chip programming solution.
