Acroview Programmer Supports MPS MPQ6653A Motor Driver

Acroview, a leader in chip programming, has officially announced the expansion of its compatible chip model coverage with the release of a new version of its programming software. The company’s core product, the universal programming platform AP8000, has now achieved full adaptation with MPS’s motor driver MPQ6653A.

The MPQ6653A is a single-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor driver with integrated power MOSFETs and an embedded Hall sensor. It drives single-phase BLDC motors with a peak current of up to 1.2A and supports an input voltage (VIN) range of 3.5V to 35V.

The MPQ6653A controls motor speed via a PWM signal on the PWM pin or a DC voltage, and features configurable soft commutation, Hall offset angle, and speed curve configuration. Its FG/RD pin can be used as a speed indicator (FG) based on the embedded Hall sensor output, or as a stall indicator (RD) when stall protection is triggered.

The MPQ6653A offers comprehensive protection features including input over-voltage protection (OVP), under-voltage lockout (UVLO) protection, stall protection, over-current protection (OCP), and thermal shutdown protection.

The MPQ6653A is available in a TSOT23-6-SL package and is AEC-Q100 Grade 1 qualified.

The AP8000 main unit offers flexible connectivity with both USB and NET interfaces, enabling convenient networking of multiple programmers. Through networking, users can easily achieve synchronized control of multiple programmers and efficiently carry out parallel programming operations. In terms of safety, the main unit is equipped with an intelligent safety protection circuit that monitors chip placement status and circuit connections in real time. Once abnormalities such as chip reverse insertion or short circuits are detected, it immediately triggers power-off protection, ensuring the safe operation of both the chip and the programmer. The main unit is powered by a high-speed FPGA chip, greatly improving data transfer and processing efficiency for smooth and efficient programming. To enhance ease of use, an SD card slot is provided on the back of the main unit. Users simply store the project file generated on a PC to an SD card, insert it into the slot, and then select, load, and execute programming via physical buttons on the programmer, enabling standalone operation without a PC. This design not only reduces dependency on computer hardware but also simplifies the working environment setup, significantly improving operational flexibility.

In terms of scalability and compatibility, the AP8000 adopts a modular combination design of baseboard and adapter boards, effectively expanding the main unit’s functionality. The device currently supports products from all major semiconductor manufacturers, including well-known brands such as SK hynix, Micron, SANDISK, ASR, and Kingston. It supports a wide range of device types, including NAND, NOR, MCU, CPLD, FPGA, eMMC, and is fully compatible with various industry-standard file formats such as Intel Hex, Motorola S, Binary, and POF, providing users with a one-stop, full-scenario chip programming solution.
